About Us

Hello and welcome to The Kiwi Club of Long Island.  We are one of many regional chapters of the Kiwi Club across the country.  As American Airline Flight Attendants, both currently flying and retired, our affiliation with AA, American Eagle/ Envoy, including flight attendants that were merged or acquired from other airlines, unites us with a special camaraderie and bond after years of service as professional flight attendants.  Wherever you are in the United States, there is a Kiwi chapter for you to join where you can re-establish contacts with dear flight attendant friends and the relationships we cherish and can continue to foster.

As a chapter, the goal is to keep our flight attendants nationally and locally connected through our fun, informative social gatherings and charitable efforts. We support WINGS, the non-profit arm of the Kiwi Club, which assists active AA Flight Attendants in urgent need of financial aid as a result of illness, injury, disability or disaster.  Our members contribute to the Kiwi Club National Endeavor Fund which is available to help our retired flight attendants who may also be in need. Additionally, we Kiwis are involved with our communities, supporting national and local philanthropic causes.

The one requirement of being a chapter member is that you must also be a national member of the Kiwi Club.  Dues to the national Kiwi Club are $50.00 every two years.  Our Long Island chapter collects $25.00 dues annually every January. If you want to learn more about our wonderful, warm, supportive, lively and diverse group, we encourage you to browse through our website, click onto our national and Facebook links, email us or simply call. All flight attendants are welcome to join.

If you think the joy of flying is over, think again.  The Long Island Kiwis simply pick up where the fun just started and take it to another level.  We hope you will reach out and consider a membership with us.

Meet some of our Members

Eileen Vaquilar Clifford *

Chapter President and Founder - Islip, NY

"Nothing makes me happier than knowing I can still see and keep up with all the flight attendant friends I have come to know in my years of flying.  It has been my pleasure and an honor to be President of our Kiwi chapter.   I am sincerely grateful to each of our members for their support, love and best wishes.  They ARE The Kiwi Club of Long Island."

Renee Malewski *

Vice President Emerita (Founding Chapter Vice- President) - Seaford, NY

"It has been a great pleasure being a member of the Long Island chapter and working with Eileen. She always has a creative, fun idea for every chapter meeting.  There's something for everyone.  It's a wonderful way for retirees to stay in touch and enjoy the company of their colleagues, as well as contributing to a great charity, The Wings Foundation.  We are continuing to grow our membership as word gets out about us being a great club to be a member!"

Member - Merrick, NY

"If it wasn't for our Long Island chapter, I would have no contact with my fellow flight attendants.  The Kiwi Club has kept a great number of flight attendants in touch.  The luncheons and social activities set up in our area are outstanding.  As being basically the only male flight attendant at these meetings, I get to see and talk with quite a few ladies that I worked with over my career. Thanks to our Kiwi chapter for bringing us all together."

"The one thing I love about our Kiwi family is that we all share a common thread of flying regardless of age or seniority.  We share this through laughter, good conversation, current events and updates within the industry.  Additionally, there is always good food and wine to enjoy when we meet.  When I leave our get-togethers, I always find myself reminiscing about what a terrific group we have and how I look forward to our future events.  You can always be ensured of a great time!"

"It's fun to be a member of the Kiwis because I get to see all my coworkers who I worked together with for so many years.  Our lunches  are so much fun because we are able to reminisce about our time flying together."
